The importance of using good quality photographs online to showcase your company should never be underestimated.  After all, who was it that said: “a picture paints a thousand words”?

The internet is a visual medium.  Think about it.  Would you rather read 300 words of solid text, or look at an interesting picture.

This is why SEO agencies and digital marketing strategists will constantly be requested photographs – because they are incredibly valuable – you would be amazed what can be achieved through photos.

But what photos should you be looking to take?  Here are just a few examples;

- Photos of your company premises, interior and exterior
- Product photographs – as single product catalogue images or maybe of your equipment on-location
- Staff photos or ‘meet the team’ – why not showcase your expertise, and this also helps to personalise the business
- Images for blog posts – make the images relevant and interesting, and the more people will be enticed to read your blog.

All of the above are vital to not only help your website content and make it more visual, but can also be used on social media streams, in articles and blogs, and on 3rd party referral sites.  For instance, why not use your company profile images for Google Business pages and Bing for Business pages?  It’s free!

Of course, not everyone has access or the budget for a professional photographer, but it doesn’t need to be!  Buy a decent quality camera for £300, and go into your warehouse or factory and get snapping – products, staff, machinery, events, trucks.....the list is endless.  You can then use these to personalise your website, make users feel welcome, and tell them the story about your business and how it can help them.

Of course, good SEO is also about written content, and so it is important to ensure that your products have good descriptions and so on, but images are certainly an important and cost-effective way of developing and improving your online presence.
